Visitors

This past weekend we got to have some visitors. My brother and his boyfriend and son stopped by to spend some time with us. This was the first time we got to meet Clint and Kaden and we think they are great! We went to dinner Sunday night (ssshhh don't tell anyone) at BUZZ BBQ. It was good, not as good as last time, I don't know what changed but still good enough to make me want to go back for some pulled pork FOR SURE!.

Then we went back home, sent Jacob to bed for a CRAZY Sunday/Monday workday and the 3 of them and Kira and I went to do usual Vegas visitor stuff... EXCEPT like this time last year when Jo and Adam were here the Gardens at the Bellagio were out of commission so they could put up their spring display.

We did watch the fountains and Kira didn't freak out this time. They did one of my favorite Rachmaninov songs.





On Monday we decided a trip to the chocolate factory in Henderson would be fun!

Kira and Kadan held hands all day long. Mostly cause Kira wouldn't give him any other choice but it was still cute.


After the chocolate factory we took a jaunt around their cactus garden, until it started to rain.

After that it was a stop at the MGM to see the Lions, but they were asleeping so that was kinda a bust. They did have two baby lions hanging out though and they were fun to look at!

Then it was lunch and they were off.
I love it when family and friends stop by. We are expecting Auntie "M" in June and are SO excited about that. Anyone else who wants to come hang with us in Vegas just give me a call!

Rainy Days

It's been raining A LOT here in Vegas lately and while that is good for our environment and our water table, it hasn't been so good on our pockets (can't pour concrete in the rain). However, we have tried to make the most of it. Last week while Jacob was off because of the rain we decided to go do something fun and free! Jacob asked Kira if she wanted to go ride a train, right around the same time I asked her if she wanted to go see the Lions at the MGM. SO, we decided to do both!

So after hitting Taco Bell for lunch, we headed down to the Mandalay Bay where we caught the express tram to Excalibur. From there we walked across the street and across the street again to the MGM to see the Lions.

These two dudes came in to feed the Lions! It was pretty incredible! They came in with hands full of meat and started to move the Lions around their enclosure. It's pretty cool, there are 16 lions that live in a sanctuary a little outside Vegas. Everyday one of the female lions and one of the male lions come in for a 6 hour shift. Then they change to another set of lions after that for 3 shifts. The glass is sound proof and smell proof and with the water falls the lions mostly nap while they are there.

We were just about to leave when these two guys came in, I couldn't help thinking how awesomely cool that would be! The information given was that these two guys have worked there for a while and these lions are used to them and consider then part of the pride. How awesome would that be?
