Life is hard when you're two and a half!

Jacob took these pictures of Kira yesterday. It was a rainy day so we didn't get to go out and have some fun and so she was a little restless. ALL of these faces where made within 30 minutes!

We Are Family... all the Anderson cousins and me!

On Sunday we got to see most of the Anderson cousins! Kira LOVES LOVES LOVES her cousins and it always makes me a little sad when I think about how little she sees them. I didn't get my first cousin until I was 17 so the fact that Kira has 8 cousins on the Anderson side and 3 on the Winfrey side makes very happy. Jacob has more cousins than he can count or remember their names so I love that this tradition continues with Kira.
She had a great time! She didn't take naps for 2 days and as soon as we got her in the car and it started moving on Sunday she was out!

Playing dress up with Kyla and my G-Funk

Rinny Rinny's cute little face!

I haven't seen her in ages and she was born right when we moved so I was surprised and so happy when she jumped right into my arms and let me tickle her

She is so cute!

Kira and i are planning another trip in March so we will be down to see you all soon!
LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Robert Williams Art Show

We made a quick trip down to Cali this past weekend. One of the reasons was to see this show. Jacob has been a fan of Robert Williams for a long time, and while I'm not as big a fan, I enjoy some of his work.
Grandma Jetta watched Kira for us on our 2nd.... yes 2nd date night in a week (unprecedented!) and we drove up to CSUN (Cal State Northridge)
It was a free show so we paid the 6 dollar parking fee happily! We had a great time at the show, it was a little crowded, as it was a small space but Jacob had a goal to have one of his art books signed by as many artists as he could. There was Robert Williams of course, his wife Suzanne Williams and in total he got about 5 autographs. There will be some people he won't get, like a favorite of mine, Ed Roth but he's off to a good start.

After the show we hit Mimi's for salad and muffins. They were good and it was SO nice to spend time with one of my favorite people! Thanks Grandma Jetta!

Rainy Days

It's been raining A LOT here in Vegas lately and while that is good for our environment and our water table, it hasn't been so good on our pockets (can't pour concrete in the rain). However, we have tried to make the most of it. Last week while Jacob was off because of the rain we decided to go do something fun and free! Jacob asked Kira if she wanted to go ride a train, right around the same time I asked her if she wanted to go see the Lions at the MGM. SO, we decided to do both!
So after hitting Taco Bell for lunch, we headed down to the Mandalay Bay where we caught the express tram to Excalibur. From there we walked across the street and across the street again to the MGM to see the Lions.

Mr. Lion taking a nap

Mrs. Lion sitting near by... then they both perk up their heads because......

These two dudes came in to feed the Lions! It was pretty incredible! They came in with hands full of meat and started to move the Lions around their enclosure. It's pretty cool, there are 16 lions that live in a sanctuary a little outside Vegas. Everyday one of the female lions and one of the male lions come in for a 6 hour shift. Then they change to another set of lions after that for 3 shifts. The glass is sound proof and smell proof and with the water falls the lions mostly nap while they are there.
We were just about to leave when these two guys came in, I couldn't help thinking how awesomely cool that would be! The information given was that these two guys have worked there for a while and these lions are used to them and consider then part of the pride. How awesome would that be?
To end, here is some video of Kira watching the lions, some parts drag on a bit but it's worth it to hold on so you can see just how big these lions are!

Pretty awesome huh?
